Michelle Etter. My perfect day would include scrapbooking, bowling, playing darts, and spending time with my family & friends. I REALLY love to scrapbook & I love to go to all day crops & play, play, play. I have even driven as far south to Kansas for an all-nighter. I live in Charles City, Iowa & commute each day to Ionia to work. I've been happily married to the same good looking guy (Fred) for 12 years. We have one little dog named Junior that we call our son. He sure know his name and boy is he spoiled!! He is half Shitzu and Dauschund. He is four years old and he goes to work with me each day. So if you stop in, say hi to both of us. He even has his favorite customers, too!! His bark is worse than bite!! | |

Donya Schroeder. I have loved paper arts since I first realized what paper was. As a kid I collected stickers (remember scratch and sniff?) and still do, though now I try to actually use them instead of just owning them. I wanted to learn how to write in cursive in kindergarten because it looked so cool (I’m still fond of the cursive letter e). I started my own stationary and card company in high school, designing event invitations and gift certificates for my family’s bed and breakfast and the local arts council. I have a really broad range of tastes and that shows up in my work, from clean and simple to “wouldn’t that look better if I drove my car over it” distressed. One thing that is consistent across my work is my love of “lumpy”. More layers! More texture! Another embellishment! See for yourself on my blog. If you stop in, ask me about my chickens! |

Gerrie Etter. I’ve been playing with colors, patterns and textures for more then 40 years since I opened my design shop with workrooms for draperies and upholstery. It has been interesting to watch history repeat itself with color and style during the time I operated “Gerrie’s”. It became time to retire the design business, but alas, I can not be happy without color, patterns and textures to play with. Paper crafts is a perfect fit for me. I love to make books. When someone leaves something laying around a little too long, I design and make a book out of it. Don and I will celebrate out 50th wedding anniversary in 2009 (has it really been that long?!) We no longer milk cows on our farm, but continue to enjoy our horses. Since we don't needed the barn for cows, we remodeled it into a bed and breakfast. We weren’t born in a barn, we sure do love living in one. If I'm not scrapping at the shop, you can find me here: The Dairy Barn Bed and Breakfast. |
